Claire 2 Year Pictures

With Claire having a January birthday I usually wait and take her yearly pictures around her half birthday in the summertime.  I thought it would be fun to do her 2 year pictures this Spring while all the blossoms were in full bloom.  We went to the Weber State Campus one night and let her roam around while we took pictures.  She was basically running around the entire time and would not hold still, #2yearolds, so I was glad I got a few that turned out okay!

All the heart eyes for this girl.  I don't think she could get much cuter!

80 Degree Weather!

One day last week the temperature got up to a delightful 80 degrees.  Claire has been begging to wear her swimsuit for weeks so I let her run around the backyard in it while we colored with chalk and ate popsicles to our heart's content.  Unfortunately, every day since then has been rainy and cold again so I'm glad we at least took advantage of it.  We are really looking forward to Summertime and warmer days now!

Claire and Bitty Baby

Claire still adores her Bitty Baby we gave her for her birthday.  She was playing with it in her room so cute a couple of weeks ago I hurriedly grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures.  She loves to snuggle it and dance with it all the time.  Hopefully she'll like her baby brother as much as she loves her bitty baby!

Life with the Leishmans Lately

Here's a little catch up post of what we've been up to the past few weeks.  Utah's spring weather, as always, has been all across the spectrum.  There has been a lot of cold rainy weather.  On those days we stay snuggled up inside watching movies, playing with toys and reading lots of books. I've been flying through my to-read list these past few months to get as much read as I can before baby number two gets here.  I'm well aware that once we are in the newborn stage again (especially with a busy toddler to take care of as well) my free time will basically go out the window :).
On the few rare warm days we've had we stay outside as long as possible coloring with chalk, playing in the yard, and going for long walks.  We live really close to a mortuary/cemetery now that is a perfect place for walking & running without having to deal with any traffic.  I love it and cannot wait to be able to start running again after baby gets here.
One of my number one pregnancy cravings has been Pace Peach Popsicles.  They are THE best.  I can't get enough of them!

Claire always wants a turn with the camera when I get it out and she took this shot of herself with the remote timer.  She's pointing to the light that flashes before the picture is taken shouting "Mom, Look!"  She is the cutest :).
I have felt like I have had zero energy since I hit my third trimester but I have finally started getting the nesting urge the past couple of weeks.  We got a new bookcase for Claire & baby's shared nursery and have added a few more "boyish" books to our library.  As I mentioned, Claire and the baby will be sharing a room so I've had to be creative in figuring out how to combine all their things in one room.  I've been working on our little guy's quilt and as soon as I get that finished I will take some pictures of their finished room and do a post on it.

Easter 2015

I love putting together Claire's Easter basket every year.  I get so excited picking out fun little surprises for her.  This year we gave her a new dress & sandals, a book, a wooden toy camera, bubbles, and treats.
She was pretty excited when she found her basket in the living room after she woke up.
She pretends she has a camera and takes pictures of everything all the time so I knew she would love this!
We put only put a few of her treats in her basket and hid the rest in our backyard for her to find later in the morning.
After we ate breakfast and it warmed up a bit we took Claire outside to find her eggs.  I took her to an Easter Egg hunt the day before and she was only able to snatch up three eggs so she was way excited to have an Easter Egg hunt all to herself without any competition (unless you count Rory).
Rory was so funny and had to check out every egg before Claire gathered it up.
Claire showing off her basket of eggs!
Claire and I took a few pictures of each other on the front porch steps after the Easter Egg hunt.  The lens on her camera has a little mirror so she insists on using the camera backwards.  Apparently she's a big fan of selfies. After church we went to my parent's house for dinner and another Easter egg hunt for the grandkids.  Claire loved getting even more treats to bring home!  We had such a great day celebrating with our families and reflecting on the Savior and the atonement.  (And I couldn't help but think all day that it was the last big holiday before our little boy will join us!)
